Red, black, gold / Yellow are the colors of the German Flag. As a nod to my families ancestry, we present the Deutschland. The colors on this pen are outstanding. Paired with a red or black nib really accents the colors. The pen is built on our standard platform and is fully postable.

Great Color Combination

A friend knew about Hinze Pens before I did. Mid-November I saw a ZoomCast called Meet The Makers and Jim was one of the makers on the panel. The next day after a chat with him I bought two from the In-Stock Pens list. Today I’m using the Model B24 - Deutschland #2 with a polished steel broad nib. The red, black, and golden yellow body colors initially caught my eye followed by the name. My grandmother was born in Germany so I liked the family history connection.

This pen looks great but a pen is all about how it writes in my opinion. Jim setup the pen perfectly for my writing style. I like a wet writing pen and with a broad nib I expect to see a nice, bold line. When possible I like to match ink color to the pen body. I’ve been using Sailor Shikiori Yodaki which is perfect match.

I also like a large grip section and the B24 is a good size for me. The cap is post-able but I don’t post.

It took me a while to start buying pens directly from small-business pen makers. Jim was great to talk to about pens and is in my browsing list.
