In the Roman era, copper was principally mined on Cyprus, the origin of the name of the metal, from ase cyprium (metal of Cyprus). This was later corrupted down to Copper which we use in the english language. This pen was completely copper inspired.. it is one of my favorite metals. Using a combination of copper colored mica power, and some dyes, I created the blank to give depth to the appearance.
This is a moderate sized pen. The only adornment is the clip. It's about 5.8" long, is postable, and is about 14.5mm at it's widest point on the barrel. It's extremely comfortable to write with, and is well balanced .
To be honest this was my first ever custom Fountain Pen and both Jim and Elyce nailed it! Color and craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. I recommend Jim's pens to all.
Very pleasant to work with and keeps you up to date throughout the process. Well done!
My first pen was an Elementar where I chose the colors. This I saw and I loved the color and clip. The detail and craftsmanship is so so good. The swirl pattern is mesmerizing and has a sort of 3D effect. Jim is so helpful and very communicative through the process. I love the personal touch he gives to each pen. Next up is the Blue Caribbean.
