The classic styling of this pen is truly a thing of beauty!
Made from solid German or Japanese ebonite, it offers many benefits to the user over other acrylic options. Ebonite is very warm in the hand. It does not get slick during long writing sessions where the hand may get a little damp from perspiration. It is also a very durable material, resisting dents and cracks from accidental drops.
This pen has a larger diameter, almost 15.5mm at the widest part of the barrel and a longer & thicker grip section providing the holder comfort and good feedback. For the writers that enjoy a bit of back-weight to their pens, the cap is postable, deep & secure.
The only adornment to this pen is a gold vintage style clip. These clips are in short supply and we only have a few left. Once they are gone, they will be replaced with a more modern clip.
I wasn’t sure if the tapered ends were going to be my thing, but this pen is super comfortable to use. My fingers tend to fall on the threads above the section but these aren’t sharp or objectionable at all. The ebonite has a first-class finish and it’s wonderfully attractive. The size of the pen is just right for me, and the nib plating is good to go! This is my first Hinze pen and I’m very pleased! Plus, it writes great!
