The classic styling of this pen is truly a thing of beauty!

Made from solid German ebonite, it offers many benefits to the user over other acrylic options. Ebonite is very warm in the hand. It does not get slick during long writing sessions where the hand may get a little damp from perspiration. It is also a very durable material, resisting dents and cracks from accidental drops.

This pen has a larger diameter, almost 15.5mm at the widest part of the barrel and a longer & thicker grip section providing the holder comfort and good feedback. For the writers that enjoy a bit of back-weight to their pens, the cap is postable, deep & secure.

The only adornment to this pen is a gold vintage style clip. These clips are in short supply and we only have a few left. Once they are gone, they will be replaced with a more modern clip.

A great favorite and classic style.

I bought this a few months back. Jim sent it with an F nib. I love the pen and how well it wrote. But I felt a bit guilty about using it without making the nib as expressive as the pen it was on. So I carefully ground it to cursive italic. It's now everything I wanted it to be. Thanks, Jim for making a really great pen.

Beautiful Pen and exceptional writer

I just received my Americana. The pen is gorgeous. It is very well made with nice fit and finish. Its also well balanced and writes beautifully. The Americana sits nicely in my hands and has a very nice feel.
The opportunity to chat with Jim was also nice. Great customer service and a healthy interesting discussion about pens! Thank you!

The Americana with #6 Jowo 18 kt Medium

A very classic look, nice ebonite fit and finish a really big pen, which I prefer. Writes/starts wet. A nice true medium width (not the skinny medium I often see). Made right here in my home town of Dallas. I have two handfuls of Sailor pens (thanks Drumgooles!) that I rotate through, with my favorite Sailor a Naginata point 1911 in medium (almost broad in practice). The Americana stands up very well in comparison....excellent pen. Lately when I leave the house, The Americana goes with me....a great purchase, would highly reccommend. WH

A New Eye-Catching Pen

Not every pen is for everyone. Some pens have the look but just don't have the distance to be a daily writer. Others are plain but a real workhorse. This pen is stunning, unique and a pen I can carry and use regularly. The feel of ebonite is warm and smooth. The texture is singular and unlike resins. Smooth and, to me, a little slick. The pen is not slippery just ultra smooth. The weight distribution is very even; no forward or backward weighting. This pen fits my fingers really well and the length is more than sufficient. I don't post caps so I like a slightly longer pen. Having 1.5" to 2" past the thumb-forefinger webbing feels good. I like slightly longer sections so I don't have to roll my hand forward to bring the nib to the paper. This keeps me from having a death grip on the pen and less cramping in my fingers. I also like a slight bit of feedback from the nib. This pen meets all my requirements. Stunning, great feeling, lovely writing. The cap untwists with maybe a full turn. I twist both the cap and body so this pen uncaps very fast. Since this pen is ebonite the use of the pen will personalize it more over time more than hard resins will. Ebonite pens are more personal pens and I look forward to long friendship with this pen.
