When we created the Bifrost, we wanted a pen to pair with it. Running on the norse theme (mythology being a hobby of mine), I set out in collaboration with our friends at Diamondcast to create a pen big enough and bold enough to pair with our "rainbow bridge" pen. Taking hints from mythology and current popular culture, we created this silver, bronze, and black beauty.

This is a rather large pen. The cap is approximately 18mm in diameter, the body 16mm at its widest point, and the section about 15mm at its widest. This pen works very well with a bock #8 titanium nib, but can also be paired with a standard steel #6.

From the Encyclopedia Britannica:

Heimdall, Old Norse Heimdallr, in Norse mythology, the watchman of the gods. Called the shining god and whitest skinned of the gods, Heimdall dwelt at the entry to Asgard, where he guarded Bifrost, the rainbow bridge. He required less sleep than a bird, could see 100 leagues, and could hear grass growing in the meadows and wool growing on sheep. Heimdall kept the “ringing” hornGjallarhorn, which could be heard throughout heaven, earth, and the lower world; it was believed that he would sound the horn to summon the gods when their enemies, the giants, drew near at the Ragnarök, the end of the world of gods and men. When that time came, Heimdall and his enemy Loki would slay each other.

Great pen

I have the #8 titanium nib. It is a much different writing experience than a #6 steel or gold nib. My nib has also been ground to a cursive italic and set up quite wet. The paring with this size body and section is great. As others have pointed out the pen is a nice balance of understated material with an impressive presence.

Beautiful Large Pen and a lovely writer

I recently bought a Heimdall and I can't express enough good thoughts about this pen. First its large yet relatively lightweight and well-balanced. I opted for a large titanium nib which I am also thoroughly enjoying. This pen is a lovely writer. Its also a wonderfully understated piece with an impressive presence.

Large uniquely beautiful pen with outstanding nib and feed

I ordered this pen because of its uniqueness, not just another nib holder for #6 Jowo. The Heimdall is a large, extraordinarily beautiful with diamond cast resin. The quality of craftsmanship was outstanding. The #8 titanium nib with ebonite feed matched the size of the pen providing generous ink flow and bouncy feel. Love this pen.

Beautifully Big!

I've been a fountain pen user for a couple of years. This has to be the most understated and yet eye-catching accessory that I carry as a day to day item. The section limits my fatigue; and as a barber, hand fatigue is a major enemy. The Size 8 Nib was a wonderful choice for The Heimdall! Love this pen, very worth the purchase!!!

An excellent daily writer

The pen I've been looking for; spacious section, wonderful nib, graceful lines, a material and finish to catch the eye, and everyone else's desire for my pen when they see it. This is an awesome pen to own. Unique and affordable. Wonderful in the hand the nib glides over the paper. The black coated nib works well with the material but steel would work just as well. Not owning this pen is criminal. Don't make that mistake. This is a pen to own now before you wished you had.
